2010 Buick Lacrosse in white

I hope they sell tons of these, I really do.
But if they don’t, here it what it’ll look like at your local car rental place….

  1. Great looking car! Can't wait to see it in person. I'll bet it's a big car without looking too big. (Explanation: the Taurus is a big car that looks HUGE. At least in pics.) This car just looks like it has a nice, clean and integrated design. Everything flows and looks like it was designed in from the start. No afterthoughts. I can't say the same thing about the Taurus' design although it does look better. I am looking forward to seeing the Taurus in person too.

  2. Last time I checked, white is the color to get on a lot of cars. Take a look around, it's not just the rental cars anymore. And by the way, this Buick looks pretty sweet in white.

  3. That shoulder line down the side of the car is almost identical to the Hyundai Equus. Overall, this looks much better but… who ripped off who??

  4. I like the look of this car, oh wait, where have I seen that rear end design before? Some what derivative styling a la Lexus/Genesis especially in the rear.

Still not a bad looking car just too bad it has to wear the "Buick"=equals old folks car badge!

    The Pill

  5. I realize the Equus uses the same character line on the side, but in this case, I believe it's a throwback to the Buick Skylarks of the late '60's early '70's.

  6. It looks really good to me, but it might be just a few years too late. I think the ES350 has been doing this for a long time now. I really think the grill is to pronounced. When will these big grills go out of style?

  7. Hope it drives like a sports sedan. It is based on Opel Insignia in Europe. I hope they bring Insignia as a Buick Regal with a sports suspension

  8. funny that people say this one is a good looking car. but when it comes to Toyota everybody is saying there cars are boring….when i take a look at this car i see A LOT of Camry/ES350 design.

  9. First road tests reviews reveal that this is still a…Buick. The 3.0 is more refined than the 3.6 and of course the AWD version offers better balance.

  10. Pick one up for %15K a year from now…It will cost a fortune to repair now that GM is making real cars.

  11. I don't think people here realize how well Buick sells in the flyover states. Even throughout the 90s and early 2000s with their mediocre cars it was shocking to me how much brand loyalty they maintained. It makes total sense for GM to keep Buick.

With the exception of the R8, I generally don't like white cars. This is stunning inside-and-out and I expect it sell like crazy. Would it be too much to ask for a sport version? That would be interesting.

  12. Not my cup of tea; but definitely a diredt hit on Acura customers. (not enough wood, & not enough car for me).

  13. Sometimes no matter what you do, the only question have to dig with is…"what does it look like/is it copied from?"

Are you kidding me? Lots of cars share similar lines, heck, most do, and that's truly coincidence. Try respecting this car for how great it does look and not finding, yet again, something to write it off with. Should do well. The Enclave of sedans, only better, with an interior and other features from the next level. Vince may not have had the most love for the Enclave, but people still do and it's become a vehicle that is used for comparo in ways of "Enclave quiet…Enclave smooth…Enclave looks…etc." That's a very good thing. This car is so not anything at all what the "Lacrosse" has been since '05, it almost needed a new name. I think it will do very well.

And even more of a future look…the Buick is a higher rung car, but as one of the first EP-II's to be out, think about the next Malibu with these updated guts, electronics, etc. I want a Lacrosse and an Enclave. Let's just add the Regal/Insignia to the mix as the slightly smaller alternative, the Astra Buick, smaller Theta-ish CUV, and really fill out the line.

  14. Excellent looking car.. I hope Buick sells a lot of these! I hear the engines are very refined and the car is very quiet and solid.

To be honest, I never knew that character line was on the Equus until you brought it up. I agree with you that it looks better on this car. I thought you may find it interesting where Buick got the idea from. I remembered reading about it back when Buick was fiddling around with the prototypes of this car. However it just might be that Hyundai beat Buick in reviving the character line and putting it on a modern car. Also, it's interesting to see a similar line on the side of the new Mercedes B class as shown on Vinces newer posts. If somebody likes the Equus better, hey, more power to them, I respect their opinions and I try not to try to change other peoples opinions to match mine. But I'll bellyache about how I don't like particular cars. I agree with you though that the line looks better on this car. I think this car will do well. The Equus, to me, seems overdone. It's kinda like the designers forgot that sometimes less is more.

    To DEK:

I agree with you 100%. Lots of cars share similar styling cues and it does'nt mean that they are copying each other. It's a style of the time. In 5 years there will be a new styling cue that everyone will use. But it does'nt mean that they are copying eachother maliciously. It's not like China where they take the front end of a Pontiac Aztec and the rear of a BMW 5 series and call it the 2010 WTF 3000. I believe you can make cars only so different looking considering costs, safety features and whatever the hot styling point is at the time.

  16. "funny that people say this one is a good looking car. but when it comes to Toyota everybody is saying there cars are boring….when i take a look at this car i see A LOT of Camry/ES350 design."

Toyotas are dull as dishwater. Other than having four wheels and four doors, there isn't a single similarity with the Camry or the Lexus ES. There is some similarity to the Lexus LS, which is the only car Lexus makes that looks the part of a luxury car.

  17. It has 4 wheels…Buick stole that from Lexus.

And it has a steering wheel..That they stole from Mercedes.

  18. Buick is going to add the Regal and a Theta like the Equinox.

They will phase out the Lucerne.

Buick will have 2 cars and 2 CUVs.

  19. I would still rather have a Hyundai Genesis over the Insignia any day of the week. MUCH more car for the money, not even in the same league especially when you start adding options to the Buick.

People in those flyover states are generally uneducated people. Uneducated people are uneducated consumers. They were sold a pile of shit that was labeled as a Buick but they still bought it.

I think Buick could REALLY spice things up by bring the Insignia OPC over here and slapping a Buick badge on it. That might put this vehicle back on my radar.

  20. Maybe its another GM vehicle that rolls out of a Daewoo factory in korea. Most of their other models are.

  21. Buick said they are going to have 3 cars and 2 CUVs…Lucerne goes away…Lucerne the Cadillac DTS and the Impala are the last of those 25 year old W-body crap mobiles.

  22. It looks much better in person. When I drove next to it in parking lot,I thought I saw a new Lexus. To my surprise it was a Buick. Very nice, very impressed. I hope the do something with the other Buick. The sedan is butt ugly.

  23. "People in those flyover states are generally uneducated people. Uneducated people are uneducated consumers. They were sold a pile of shit that was labeled as a Buick but they still bought it."

I suggest you travel more. That was the most uneducated, simpleton thing I've read today. I live in NYC but was raised in Minnesota and Arizona. Yes they do drive more Buicks in those areas, but they tend to be older and have done fairly well for themselves and raised successful children. And if I were to be a douche, I might say that uneducated people where I currently live drive five year old beater Maximas, Sonatas and Camrys with purple window tint and blast lame music at stoplights. But I won't say that because that would be generalizing a little too much. However, if being uneducated is what it takes to sell cars, both coasts have their share of dummies.

  24. Are you sure this is not just the 2009 Toyota Camry rebadged?

    July 22, 2009 6:41 PM

It might as well be. GM love to rebadge all their vehicles.
