2010 Jaguar XJ Interior video

Seems like they did try to make it as shinny as possible.
I just wished the whole thing could look a bit simpler.

this car is awesome, except for the rear window pillar issue, and the tacky "virtual gauges."
I like the interior a lot. Mostly… I don't like the air vents which resemble something you'd see in a 1990s Pontiac, or a Ferrari. Neither of which is suitable in a stately sedan. I like the shiny surfaces. The rear end and awkward exterior roof elements are hideous. The Lincoln MKS is much more stylish on the outside.
It's GORGEOUS. What is wrong with you?
I agree – those air vents are distracting and actually lessen the sohisitcation of an otherwise sophisticated vehicle.
Also – is it me, or does that whole flowing, wraparound dash eerily remind you of the same treatment in the, of all things, the 2010 Buick Lacrosse?
as ytime goes on, i am really hating those two "cannon" air vents in the middle of the dash. the XFs dash is so pehnominal in its elegance and simoplicity. On this car they had the oppty to to expand on that that theme that ALREADY WORKED, and had more space and more money to make it even better.
Who the hell told them that two unsightly HUMPS in the most valuable "real estate" on the dash was a good idea?
Okay people….Jaguar is venturing into a new era….with it comes a hate or love it style….I love it, let me school a few of you the early british XJ's had radial air vents….so that design actually pays homage to the earlier jags.
The virtual gauges are SWEET! The only problem is if you have an electrical power outage you could be up sh*t's creek without a paddle. The wrap around dash is even more elegant than a Bentley, almost yacht-like. The phosphor blue lighting is classy yet modern. I'm glad they didn't copy the XF much the XJ is the flagship and should have its own design language.
Many have said the interior is to busy, but most who opt for a car in this price range like buttons and gadgets…I love my 7-series for that…It sometimes justifies the price of the car.
uh – you liike your seven series? are you aaying that you believe that your 7 series dash ISNT a direct extension of the dash in the 6,5 and 3 series?
You are wrong to say a flagship sedan should have its own design – especially in this case when the look of the cars was intentionally dervied from te same design DNA. Thats why it simply makes no sense to take a full departure from the interior of the of the XF – whe they should have taken that design to the enth degree in the flagship.
Regarding homage to the radial vents of yore – dont you think they could have successfully paid homage in a more subtle way?
this isnt a camaro or a mustang – its not a retro car – its just the opposite. Its waving goodbye to the past of Jaguar – to to pay homage with such an in your face element like that, once again, makes no sense.
Exactly Vince…This looks like an Asian design or something from a high school boy.

I love my 7-series, yeah there was questionable design elements but it grew on me when I saw it up close and personal. The seven series dash is an innovation itself with the blackened dash that comes alive when you start it up…..the XJ is much of the same but one step further.
And flagship cars should stand out, yes I do believe that! And cars in the brand under it could be distinct and take some cues from it. The XF interior is nice, but in the XJ to justify the price I want more spectacle something different, and elegant….Jaguar did this with the XJ….the flip around air vents was a nice trick for the XF, but it doesnt have to appear in every Jag.
Also if you knew anything about the Jaguar British marque you would know this car actually has a few Jaguar homage cues, exterior wise so why not interior wise.
We can agree to disagree. But my dad can beat your dad!
End Note.
How long will those TFT LCD instruments last in 140F heat…..
Just no elegance in this design.
I like the interior a lot. I really like the Ferrari style vents. And WOW!!! Did somebody steal a styling que from…GM??? The thin strip of wood on top of the dash. It's from the LaCross. I like it and it says something for GM too.
