2012 Hyundai Elantra

Looking really slick.
Imagine this next to a Corolla.

I have heard that the next Civic might again, go more conservative. Like the previous version. I sure hope not. The current model still looks great. And with really modern, almost progressive models coming out from Korea, I don’t think anyone can afford to take a step backward…

  1. Vince I definitely agree with you regarding your comments about this next upcoming gen of the Hyundai Elantra. This is rumored to be the "lil' brother" of bigger Sonata, sharing much of the DNA, as well as receiving the GDI powerplant.

Yep, the upcoming Elantra next to a Corolla or a Civic? will make both these look "old" real fast!

    Good job Hyundai!

  2. The Koreans are getting better and better. I heard the same thing about Honda cutting back on the next Civic too.

  3. Well well well. Looks like the forever debuting Cruze well only get a little chance of gaining sales once the next Civic, and this arrives. Let alone the Kia Forte is doing good too.

  4. I just had a ride in a current model of the Elantra and I gotta say, for a small car I was pleasantly suprised. Nice car. I'm sure the new one will be MUCH better.

  5. I guess I will have to agree that Hyundai will give a reason to the Japanese guys to build better looking cars.

  6. It needs to loose the little black plastic fakeout on the C-pillar (I don't understand or appreciate this styling practice at all; although it is smaller and less offensive here than on other offenders from other companies). Other than that, it looks very promising. I think the rest of the auto world should be very wary of Hyundai/Kia. They seem to be improving at an extremely rapid pace.

  7. Corolla & Civic have been dead for years. Mabey this will bury them both. Even the last gen Pontiac Vibe was better looking than anything Honda or Toyota– and even GM had the good sense to drop the Vibe/Matrix/Corolla platform.

  8. I think this is going to be a standout model. Hyundai is making giant leaps forward.

Vince, Honda isn't making the next Civic more conservative. The only rumors that have been flying around is that it won't be growing in size which really is perfect.

The two best selling vehicles in their segment are dead already? Are you kidding??? How can the best selling ANYTHING be dead. FYI: The Corolla is the #1 selling vehicle in the entire world.

The Pontiac Vibe and Matrix were junk cars.

  9. Here is reality, everytime a new C segment car comes out people like to down the Corolla or Civic. But in reality, I see them every 12 seconds on the streets. So why are people still buying them if the Corolla and Civic isn't all that?
