2011 BMW 3 series coupe

Or “another pointless mud-cycle refresh from BMW”…
The 3 series is a great looking car that needs nothing.
At least they didn’t ruin it, somehow, the slight changes also look great.
This is last year’s model. Hardly a difference…
ITS THE SAME LOOK! I FEEL LIKE IM TAKING CRAZY PILLS! Seriously though its just a little tiny bit
Looks good.
I think the refresh is partially motivated by EU pedestrian collision safety specs. Slight taller grille and non exposed wipers so if you run someone over they don't hit the windscreen and get stuck in the wipers. Hmmm too many people driving or walking while texting 🙂
I would never have known the difference. Why did they even bother?
Vince, they brought it more in-line with the looks of the new 5 and 7 Series.
Hardly pointless.
Yawn. This styling was exciting when it was first initiated a couple decades ago… but now it's just a reminder that BMW has run out of ideas.

Hardly pointless.
Just for sake of conversation, what exactly did BMW do to bring this more in-line (sic) with the 5 and 7 series. Specifically, please. Thanks.
blah…booooring

Headlights, grill, spats between the lower intakes, lower valance shape, taillamps.

I don't see it as obvious or significant as you do, but it's nice that you see it and like it.
One thing that is refreshing and significant: Less Bangle in the entire lineup at BMW.
Remember, BMW's designs are, for the most part, evolutionary, not revolutionary. While the changes are subtle, and probably unnecessary, it's nice to see an automaker that takes what works and makes it incrementally better. All other automakers seem to take the "back to the drawing board" when it comes to refreshing or redesigning their vehicles.
