2010 Kia Forte test drive coming up…
Last Updated:
Very curious to see how it compares to other popular like the Civic and Focus.
My model is the top of the line SX model with the larger 2.4 Liter engine, with auto.
I will report on it soon, but if you have any questions about it, go ahead…
Nope. No questions. Not interested in hearing about a Kia.
You'll enjoy the car, and it's noticably better then the Civic. There's a few minor problems with it, such as it's SUPER bad Manumatic tranny, and it's shared front end with the Civic, but other then that, it's MAJOR bang for the buck.
wonder if you could take my very superficial impression of the Forte and deduce some proof either for or against it, Vince?
Loved the car from pix but when I got a brief look'n'sit it was a huge disappointment – just felt "hollow", nothing was quite right – and I didn't even want a more in depth try-out
…which I kind of regret now but it was a quick & major turn-off.
Terrible paint finish ( orange peel galore), Terrible interior materials. You just cannot beat the Japanese ( other than toyota), so don't even try.
I can't wait for your review of this. As cool as the Camaro can be, chances are I'd end up with a Forte first (preferably the hatch)….killer college loans to blame. Personally I hope it trumps the Civic because the resale value will drop faster which is a win win….right before they start to follow Honda and Toyota to "might as well buy new because used costs just as much land."
I'm still trying to figure out how Ford's Focus abomination remained popular after the horrific money wasting reskinning. $$$ will always speak louder than words.
The car I am driving now has a perfect paint job with no orange peal.
Materials are similar to anything else.
As far as the Focus, I agree with Fusion Sport.
It's pretty weird.
But I did drive it, and it is pretty good. And so is the price.
Sync is also very attractive to many buyers.
I couldn't live with the interior design myself, but it seems most people can…

HERE'S HOW: "the Focus ECOnetic 1.6 TDCi 109PS delivers an impressive fuel economy of just 74.2 mpg (COMBINED cycle) and CO2 emissions of only 99 g/km." Combine that with quality that is ahead of (no, not "as good as"; but noteably BETTER than) Honda. Not to mention great pricing & even better insurance premiums–due to exceptional safety ratings–and you have you're answer. (And of course everything from Kia to Dodge to Nissan has got Toyota beaten these days). Having said all that; I still think the next Forte will give EVERYBODY a run for their money.
We are talking about the US Focus here, not the current European one.
They are two different cars.
And the US does not get the 1.6 TDCi.
