Now with human babes.

  1. AMAZING! And still AMAZING! without the human babes.

Wonder what the multi-billion dollar Toyota have been doing with their money…making ugly looking and defective cars.

  2. Kinda looks like a Toyota in a Camry meets Solara kind of way. Better than a Corolla. I like the wheels but the overall design is really old looking.

  3. hyundai really took a lot of 2nd gen solara styling cues for their next gen cars, and it works

i guess it's something that toyota can be proud of during their current waves of cluster f*cks?

  4. I read it's going to come with a 1.6l DI 4 cyl and a 6 speed auto. A turbo is said to be an option. I'm not sure if it'll come with hot girls with short skirts though. Perhaps Hyundai can work on that in the future:)

  5. Oh and another thing…..As much as I like how the new Cruze and Focus look, I do think this looks better. I like the side and back of the Focus and I like the front of the Cruze but I can't stand the huge gaping maw intake on the front of the Focus and I can't stand the c pillar area on the Cruze. This Avante/Elantra, to me, has a more fluid, clean, harmonious design with no eye sores. However I'm sure the interiors of the Cruze and Focus will be much more stylish. Not that the Elantra's will be bad, it's just that theirs will be better.

  6. This is awfully generic. It'll steal some Corolla sales, that's for sure. But it's just another disposable economy car with zero style. Is it actually possible that the domestics have the most appealing small cars in the pipeline? I think it might be true.

  7. Big improvement over the current Elantra.
One problem here in San Francisco is that there are so few dealers……..none convenient to people living in S.F.

  8. I don't know what car the naysayers on this blog are looking at. Solara? really? zero style? reallyt? Awfully generic? really?

my god, I don't know what people are expecting. This car follows the Sonata and Accent and Tucson styling, and develops it. I'm glad to see the use of chrome on the grille toned down from the Sonata, but it's nice to see the slight nod to the Tucson around the grille contours. The roofline is as 'fast' as can be and still seat people in the backseat, and the rear aspect is realy nice too.

just as I'm positive that every Teabagger is really a racist when you boil it all down, I really feel the people that are trying to put down this new Hyundai's style as generic, are really just xenophobes, and wouldn't like a Korean car if they made an exact copy of a Bentley Continental and sold it for $25,000.

it's time to rid yourselves of the stereotypes and open your eyes. It's a brand new day, and the old guard is dead.

  9. "This is awfully generic."

Surely you jest or is it possible that you drive that Mitsuoka Mustang that Vince posted a few days ago????? This Hyundai may in fact be an economy car, but it still looks better (and more original)than many cars on the road today. Not bad for under 20K.

  10. "it still looks better (and more original)than many cars on the road today. Not bad for under 20K."

Than Corollas and current Hyundais and current Focus, absolutely. But seeing this, the future is depressing. Hyundai is following the "same sausage different length" school of style. What works (marginally) for a Sonata sized car, looks terrible as a 5/8 scale car.

The new Fiesta and and Focus can't get here fast enough. It would be nice if Nissan would bring over some of the upcoming Renaults.

  11. One more thing….I'm looking forward to seeing what the "Touring" will look like. And NO…I don't sell cars for Hyundai…..are they hiring in Virginia? A 2 year old could sell this car!!! Because I think it's that good. Easy money:)

Strange…..the sausage philosophy seems to work just fine for Audi, Mercedes and BMW (BMW is coming back to it). Although the Accent may look a little dorky as a pint sized Sonata (I really need to see one in the metal), this Elantra/Avante is a different story! It will hold its own against the Focus (which I also like except for the rather crude front end). Like it or not, the Koreans have arrived!

  13. Nice looking car. Definitely better than the rest of Hyundai's lineup. However, I spent some time driving both an Elantra Touring and a Forte Koup with all the kit including the big engine in the Kia recently, and I have to say I couldn't live with either of them. The Touring was harsh riding and just felt rather rough and unfinished. The Forte rode decently enough, but the steering was extremely sloppy. It just goes to show that Hyundai/Kia still have a long way to go in the ride & handling department. The Mazda is definitely the best car in this segment and unless this new Elantra drives just as well, I wouldn't even consider it.

  14. these are tasty little korean candy treats, the girls I mean, can't wait to go to korea! Is it true that Hyundai is now bigger than honda?
