2011 Lexus IS

Last Updated:

I can’t really tell if there is any difference. Really.

This 2011 model is for Japan.
I guess we can see LEDs in the headlights, maybe the bumper has changed a bit…

This car is getting long in the tooth….

  1. The bumpers are reinforced to provide added protection during unintended acceleration & brake failure episodes. Wireing & chip programing have been drastically upgraded to reduce "incidents".

  2. The more I look at this car, the more I think "This could wear a Seat logo on it and no one would mention". At least on these pictures…

  3. THE !!! most important part of this car is rear wheel drive yummy ! hope to find a nice used one someday, some colors it looks real sweet and some are just ok, that awesome green one is my fav . i also really dig the boomerang reverse lites they did for 2010, and yet killed the tailamps on the convertible there awful .

  4. and which vehicle in this price range/segment is considered non-lame with a striking and unique design?

  5. "and which vehicle in this price range/segment is considered non-lame with a striking and unique design?"

The Jaguar XR. It's rare, striking and more unique than this. And which came out first, this or the Lancer?

What are you smoking dude? Do you know of any Jaguar models lower than 50 grand? And what is an XR anyway? A model in your dreams?

  7. Is this covered under the 250h recalls for 1) Exploding fuel tank –which is especially deadly in a car with Lithium batteries– and 2) unintended acceleration &/or poor quality brakes; ??? Just curious.

  8. what do you mean the jaguar "XR"?

jaguar currently have no entry level car that competes with lexus IS/3series/c-class and only sell vehicles priced and positioned at or above the 5series/E-class/GS level, and JAGUAR'S SALES NUMBER ARE QUITE RARE AND UNIQUE TOO, that's not exactly a good thing. and you can have your striking unique design all you want, but buying a car that still comes with a 4.2 litre v8 that makes only 300 hp in the year 2010 is simply and purely mental retardation, even FORD, GM and HYUNDAI these days can squeeze 300+ from a v6, and they don't claim to be luxury car makers.

also, lexus was available in 2005, lancer wasn't available till 2007, in case you are still wondering

  9. Then give me the Genesis then. Thanks for asking my question about the Lancer coming after the IS. wow 300 hp in rare XR that's pitiful You are so right. The Hyundai/Kia 2.0L can get like 276 horses. Wow, I'll wait for the 2011 Kia Optima than. It'll be rare and looks better than this. I don't care if the Opitma isn't in this class. I rather have that over this.

  10. Who would own a Jaguar now they are owned by Tata. Yes nice looking cars but they more or less flushed all the classic history and heritage down the toilet when that sale happened.

  11. Still a great looking car. I loved it when I drove it in comparison with the BWW 3Series and an Audi A4. I liked the Lexus the most. The Audi was nowhere near, but it was back when there was the older A4 model.
