More pictures of the Kia Forte hatchback
Last Updated:
Still called Cerato in some markets, I guess.
On top of a 5 door version, the Forte is supposed to gain a 6 speed auto as well as a Navigation option for the new year.
Making life even harder for the 2012 Civic…
Why does Kia offer two more or less identical cars; both more or less the same size and with the same underpinnings. Both are the size of a Golf or a Focus. The only digfference is the one was designed by Peter Schreyer, wheras the other was existing, when Schreyer started to work for the Korean company.
IMO, the Forte/Cerato looks much more modern, compared to the Cee´d.
Becuase the Forte is a rival to the Golf and the Focus. If it was really big it would conflict with the Optima. Besides, they aren't the same size, the Koup is longer than the sedan.
This is looking really good and practical as well. Much more interesting than the new Civic shown earlier.
Interesting that this car is interesting…Isn't that interesting?
"Why does Kia offer two more or less identical cars;"
Where you from LaLa Land? The Koup's face is different from the sedan. The hatch's front bumper is different from the sedan. Therefore, the sedan is different from both the sedan and the hatch. Even the tailights are diffrent from all the Fortes.
I am interested in interesting cars because of my interest of getting to work to pay the interesting interest on my car loan. Interesting that I have been indoctrinated into over-using the interesting word interesting…Next thing you know I will be saying "awesome" like the little school girls do.
This is a nice design that will sell to the masses.
@ jtz: I am from Germany, not from LaLaLand. We have the Cee´d here, not the Forte. I was talking about the differences between these two models, but obviously this seems to be quite difficult to understand – for some…
much nicer than that toyota up above
Toyota could use Kia's stylists. This is something adults would buy.
Vince, do you know if Hyundai/Kia is going to come out w/ an updated station wagon? Maybe using this platform? I liked the Rondo, and I like the Elantra Touring, but I know they cheaped out on the engine/tranny combo in both cars.
I'd like a cheap, modern, comfortable station wagon – I need some more room in the cargo bay for baby gear, but I don't need/want 4 wheel drive.
Wait for the new Ford Focus 5-door.
I'd love to see Kia make an SX version of this to compete with the WRX, upcoming Focus ST, and the Mazdaspeed3. I bet that they could do it for at least $3,000 less.

The new Focus is going to be absolutely incredible, but it is also going to be pretty pricey. This will likely go for under $20,000 fully loaded.
Not everyone can afford the Focus which will top out at $25,000.
I would rather have a stripped Focus than a loaded Cerato. The new Focus rides on rails and it is smooth at the same time.

Then you should have been more clear. And Lala land doesn't exist I was being mataphoric.

The Hyundai Sonata Estate will come to the market maybe late 2011. You cna find some pictures of the testing mules here:
The reviews from Australia and Europe re: the Elantra Wagon (Touring) giv the car very good scores. They mention that the engine is a little rough but delivers and the manual transmission is considered to be very good.
