Honda AC-X Concept

Last Updated:

Let’s hope this new Plug in Hybrid concept gives us a look at the next generation Accord, due out next year.
It doesn’t have to be exactly like this, as long as they don’t come up with a bigger 2012 Civic.

  1. It reminds me of the cab-forward designs of the old Chrysler Concorde / Eagle Vision. If Honda can actually make the production version look like this, then it might be a good way to get back in the game.

  2. is that tl and zdx design language i see? – my guess is this is a acura version of the fcx clarity.

  3. Now even Honda's concepts look like they came out 10 years ago.. the FCX Clarity and even any of the '06 Civics look more modern than this. All I see is a Prius greenhouse with a trunk attached? Seriously? Not exactly the direction Honda should be going.. but this AC-X would have made a very nice Crosstour 4 years ago.

  4. The Clarity should have been the current US Accord, or at least the long-overdue Legend/RL replacement.. but Honda obviously feared taking a bold step with their best-selling US model, and every subsequent introduction has shown the same reticence to advance or improve their design language. These two concepts prove that Honda is stuck in the sales bubble and unwilling to try something new. With Hyundai and Kia nibbling away at their market share, perhaps it's time to take some risks.

  5. This looks like one of those cars from a movie set. When they take a current everyday car and add futuristic rope lights to it. For Honda to actually have this as a concept is absolutely ridiculous.

  6. Honda is quickly fading into the background and Hyundai is charging ahead. Honda needs actual product not concepts at this point to stay relevant.

  7. As much as I hate Honda designs these days, I don't understands Vince's comment about not looking like a bigger Civic. The Accord has NEVER looked like a larger Civic in its entire life.
