It looks like it was designed by a 12 year old.
It seems pointless to look at computerized "preview images" (such as these) when a new model is still in the distant future.
The digitized "renderings" always change drastically in the months and years before an official launch.
It isn't making a lot of sense to put credence into any of them.

The previous 'illustration' was much nicer. This one has way too many Nissan design cues.
Why bother making it a hatch? The steeply raked liftgate makes the trunk space negligibly larger than a sedan's trunk.
A chrome mustache does not hide the fact that this is a boring and unoriginal nose. Mazdas designs are not good lately.

You'd be one of the few thinking that. Mazda is winning design awards left and right.
They are doing a fantastic job, and sales of the CX-5 and the new Kodo design language are proving that. Just wait until the 6 and the new 3 hit.
