2018 Acura TLX

 Look at this official picture of the 2018 model. They are really proud of that grille.
Like they are saying: “See” We listen. We have a new one now”.

I personally hate that new grille.
It is totally uninspired. It just looks very old fashion to me. Like something from the 90’s. In a bad way.
Inside, nothing new. Except I guess Car Play…

Here is the current one.
I actually like it better.
Sure, it has the shield that everyone seems to hate. But I actually have gotten used to it.

Another case of a really good car deserving better designers…

  1. Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon in which the mind responds to a stimulus (an image or a sound) by perceiving a familiar pattern where none exists. And this car has my Pareidolia on on overload. Look at the passenger's side dash. It looks like a frowning crosseyed, monster. Acura has had better days. The last 8 years of their designs have absolutely sucked. Now they've gone from the angry robot chicken front grill to a Cheshire cat smile. I just don't understand.

  2. Although I don't love the new design, I do see it as looking better than the current very tired looking shield shape with the logo in a metal bar.

  3. New design looks better. Car is great value, but needs better tires, brakes, handling. At least the new grille is not the butt of jokes. Hiring new designers would be helpful.
