2021 Hyundai Tucson Interior
Last Updated:
At least inside, the 2021 Hyundai Tucson will be a huge improvement over the current generation.
This seems much more upscale than before. And more so than most of its competition.
It makes the CR-V interior look quite old. Even the RAV-4.
And finally, the screen is really well integrated to the console and dash design, which is great.
Outside, the new Tucson is supposed to resemble the recent Vision T Concept we saw just a few months ago.
This will be going head to head with the RAV-4 and CR-V.
A new 2.5 Liter engine with an 8 speed automatic will be standard. And a hybrid version is expected as well.
Yes, it does look nice and modern inside. As expected the interesting Sonata steering wheel is passed on to this update. This only means the next generation Sportage is being designed and developed as we speak. Nissan's new Rogue (X-Trail) better be ready.
I don't like that there are no real buttons below the screen. Other automakers have already tried these types of buttons and ended up replacing them with real buttons. Might as well have put in a giant screen if this was the route they wanted to take.
I agree about the buttons. Even Honda went back and added a volume knob to their screen a while ago. Which was a great move.
I can't see any physical volume control on these pictures…
Could comment on the buttons, Doug.
Yep. Best old school integration of the screen. And now that they are using OLED screens with high brightness no more wash out in the sun like LCD.
Maybe it has some kind of gesture control as a substitute for a volume knob, ala BMW.
Starting from the new elantra, the controls are natural talk based. eg. "I am cold.", "make it colder by 10 degrees", or "navigate to the nearest Costco", "stop(or start) the audio after 10 minutes." etc. You will hardly use any physical buttons.
