Lucid Air deliveries video: happy millionaires…
Last Updated:
While I really love the new Lucid Air, I do have mixed feelings about watching a bunch of white millionaires getting their hands on their new super expensive toy.
The one features in the video is the Dream Edition. Priced at $169 000. Which, after taxes, snd incentives is over $177 000.
I am glad the new brand is finally able to deliver a few cars. But videos like this are a bit over the top for me.
At least the Rivian truck we saw being delivered recently starts at under $70 000. Not cheap at all. But not sickly expensive.
Am I being too sensitive? Aren’t millionaires people too?
Even with all that money, I would still have a very hard time spending that much cash on a car. And show myself on a YouTube video doing it and being treated (literally) like royalty…
But it's more than just a car Vince, it's an aspirational device.
Now the pump is primed.
Branding it a dream.. lol.
Too much money by half.
They might not be millionaires. They might just be making a crazy financial decision because they want to be an early adopter. Most millionaires actually work for their money and are not lazy trust fund types, so they can be happy to get their new car too
Vince, why are you offended by millionaires being "white"?
There are nonwhites that do silly things with their money too.
Another boring, over-priced appliance. Yawn.
Lucid will be introducing a version of the Air priced at just over $77,000. They have to start with the most expensive versions first in order to make the most money from their current limited capacity to offset the financial losses they are incurring while they get production ramped up.
I anxiously await the arrival of a real people’s car, a modern Model T or VW bug if you will. I look with high hopes at Honda and VW for this.

Waiting for the liberal media to complain about the lack of diversity in this video.
Seems to me that this is more a celebration of an innovative and exciting new brand/technology launch, and less a display of new car owners being treated like royalty. I agree that it's a bit excessive, but it's not likely that all new Lucid owners are going to be treated like this. It's more of a "thank you" to those early adapters who had the means and committed to supporting a new company.
Also, am I the only one who noted the several non-white owners taking delivery?
What's "White" got to do with anything? Why make this about race. Who cares what pigmentation of skin it is?
Anyways, thanks for the post otherwise.
Let's face it, most million/billionaires are white. He is simply stating a fact. Let it go, all your "anonymouses"
I love it. Thanks for the reception video, Vince.
