2024 Subaru Crosstrek: the video.

Here is a short video of the all-new Subaru Crosstrek in action.

The model in the video is the Sport version. With its horrible-looking yellow/gold trim. On top of the overdone black plastic cladding. (It’s especially bad in the back)

The Crosstrek is one of these cars that started out cute but looks worse and worse. It seems Subaru has no one on board to tell them when something just looks plain ugly. They’re doing the same thing with the Outback. While the car itself is probably better than it has ever been, the overdose of black plastic crap all over just ruins the whole thing.

Even other versions without the gold trim look worse than ever. It’s just too bad…

  1. As a former two time Subaru owner, let me just clarify…

    All Subarus used to be better looking than they are now. Every new generation/ re-fresh they add more and more ugly black crapy plastic. As sad as the new crapy clad Crosstek is, it is still tame compared to the Outback (which used to be one of my favorite cars).

    I write this not to be negative, but just in hopes that people from Subaru will read comments like this and stop the insanity.

  3. Their designers grew up watching Neon Genesis Evangelion.

    Between head gaskets and CVT failures (and no temperature gauge to warn of overheating?) I’ve written Subaru off of my shopping list permanently. Didn’t think I’d add appearance to that list!

  4. Subaru’s designers seem to have convinced themselves that ‘highly functional’ means ‘really ugly’.

    Sadly, the result is this poor thing – the Hatchback of Notre Dame.

  5. No matter how much you dislike Subaru, the continued demand outpaces supply so they seem to know what they are doing.
