The new 2025 Audi A5 Avant wagon is yet another forbidden fruit for us in North America. So why not take a look at it…
While the US will be getting both versions of the new fastback sedan, as the A5 and S5, we will not be getting the wagon versions. Which is too bad. At least the sedan is now a hatchback, replacing both the old A4 and the A5 Sportback. The new A5 will be powered by a 2.0 Liter engine with 268HP. While the sportier S5 is getting a 362HP Turbo V6. This all sounds pretty old fashion and is based on a new platform called PPC (C is for “combustion).
The new A5 is a few inches longer than before, making the new wagon especially roomy.
I really like the interior of the new A5, which resembles a lot the one in the 2025 Q6 e-Tron. And probably the upcoming new Q5. I think the small pieces of wood trim on the console and doors are a really nice throwback from earlier generations. While that passenger screen is just ridiculous, it is probably (and hopefully) an option.
An allroad version of the new wagon will probably come later, which would also be nice. And might have a better chance to make it over here…
