2026 Telluride Vs. 2026 Palisade
Last Updated:
We have now seen so many spy photos of the next-generation Hyundai Palisade for the 2026 model year. And more recently, a few of the upcoming 2026 Kia Telluride as well.
When comparing both, the 2 upcoming SUVs look very, very similar, So much so that, so far, the greenhouse seems almost exactly the same. At least from what we see that isn’t covered by heavy camouflage. the windshield and side windows look to be the same in both SUVs.
Maybe it was the same with the current models, but it seems much more obvious in the next-generation designs which are far more angular, making these similarities much more obvious, or so it seems.
Of course, we still have nothing official about any of these two from Hyundai and Kia. However, a new smaller V6 with a turbo is rumored to be the new standard powertrain, with probably slightly better gas mileage. And a brand new 2.5 Liter Hybrid powertrain could be a new option.
The current generations of the see two are still very popular with over 89,000 units of the Palisade sold last year and almost 111,000 Tellurides. These are big sellers for Hyuunda/Kia and the stakes are pretty high too. However, from what I have seen so far, the next generation might not be that impressive.
We’ll see…
Well this is America so it seems like the companies are trying to profit instead of providing distinction. Do as little sell for a lot. Look at the Land Cruiser vs GX, the Civic vs Integra. The Japanese were the best at a GM situation. The cars looked totally different. Now Toyota and Honda like the American automakers, don’t care. Change the front and the back a bit, everything in between carries over. Then. We went from 5 year to 6 year cycles and as is Toyota 10 years or more. The thing is people need to drive to get anywhere, and it seems like most people aren’t autophiles, they don’t even know car companies are related.
Im not impressed with this new rebadging of Telluride and Palisade myself. Whats next for the next Tuscan and Sportage or Sorento and Sante Fe?
Why get rid of Telluride’s unique B pillars to ordinary pillars now?
Both look like the EV9’s greenhouse.
But i’ll wait to see what we are not allowed to see if these are clones or same platform different designs.
Yikes, they were better off playing the Ford/GM card and kept the current generations with small improvements for the remainder of the decade. One of the few vehicles I don’t mind seeing all the time as they aren’t going stale as fast.
I hope thay both come out more rugged and boxy! People love that! Let those that don’t stick to the Pilot which looks like a modified van.
