Acura ZDX test drive coming up.
Last Updated:
I just got a brand new Acura ZDX EV for a few days and will be reporting on it as soon as I can.
The model I will be driving is a loaded ZDX Type-S. It has AWD and a 278-mile range. This is really good considering this is also a car with almost 500HP. The Type S also comes with 6-piston Brembo front brakes, air suspension, and adaptive dampers.
As expected the Type S is loaded and even comes with a new 18-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system.
While the new ZDX starts at around $64,000, this particular Type-S trim with the $600 Snowfall pearl paint option and destination comes to $76,450. Which is really expensive and even more than the Cadillac Lyriq. So far, I think Acura might have been quite optimistic with the pricing, even if the new ZDX does qualify for all federal incentives.
However, I have seen pretty amazing lease deals on this car so far. Like $399 a month for 3 years with $1000 down on the base $64,000 model.
So far I do like the design of the new ZDX. I saw it in person last year at the Los Angeles auto show and was actually impressed. However, the interior, while a bit more upscale than the Honda Prologue, might not be luxurious enough for the price especially when compared to the Cadillac Lyriq.
The new sound system sounds really nice but not as great as the 31-speaker unit in the revised Acura MDX Type-S I drove just a few weeks ago. I have so far only been setting up the car and haven’t driven it yet. But I am already having problems with the phone charger. Something that worked perfectly in the Honda Prologue. I guess I’ll have to find a cable for it…
As usual, don’t hesitate to ask any questions you might have.
