2025 Ford Expedition.

Ford has released a new teaser for the 2025 version of the Expedition SUV.
Unlike what the teaser says, this will not be an “all-new” Expedition. It might look new to current owners, especially with its new face and redesigned interior. But it won’t be that new.
It will be the Ford equivalent of the 2025 Lincoln Navigator we saw a few days ago. However, Ford’s new face looks more different than ever before. And almost modern. It also seems the new grille will be much smaller than before. Let’s hope this is the start of a good trend.
The rear hatch should get the same split gate the Navigator just got. As we have previously seen in recent spy shots, the dashboard will of course not offer the crazy door-to-door screen setup from the 2025 Navigator.
Ford sold around 73,500 units of the Expedition last year. Which is quite a bit less than the Chevrolet Tahoe with over 110,000 units sold in 2023. Still, Ford is probably making tons of money on these high-profit items. And around 70,000 every year is probably enough for them.
Just like the Navigator is chasing the Cadillac Escalade, the expedition was created in 1996 to go after the popular Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. And just like the Navigator, the Ford has never been as popular as the GM model. But again, at 70,000 units a year, it is over 3 times more popular than the Nissan Armada or even the Toyota Sequoia.
Your history is spotty. The Navigator was launched well before the Escalade, created the large luxury SUV segment, and was a huge hit. The original Escalade was a barely retouched Tahoe rushed to market in a weak attempt to compete. It took a few generations for it to improve and eventually become the sales leader when Ford didn’t keep the Navigator fresh.
