Bentley already showed us a preview of their first production EV a few weeks ago. And it will be a sportier and smaller SUV than the current Bentayga.
It’s an obvious move in the SUV-crazy world we currently live in. And the Bentayga is Bentley’s best-selling model with over 5600 built last year. Their second most popular model is the Continental GT coupe. Which has been quite a hit for them over the years.
Rolls Royce decided to produce a coupe as their first EV, and it has been getting fantastic reviews. I am sure their EV SUV is coming next.
Bentley calls their new EV a “Luxury Urban SUV”. And apparently, it will be the first of its kind.
The Bentley EV SUV teaser from a few weeks ago doesn’t show much except something that vaguely looks like a more modern Bentayga.
The teaser also mentions 2026. Which, no matter what, is still over a year away. And that’s the introduction date. The production model might not be available for another couple of years. But Bentley just wants you to know they have a cool EV coming out. Just wait a while and no matter what, please don’t buy anything else before.
Since it is a very early preview, we don’t know much yet about the new model. Not even a name. It share its EV platform with the next-generation Porsche Cayenne.
Bentley is still targeting 2035 for a whole EV lineup, which means we will see an electric Bentley coupe, no matter what.
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long…
