2026 Honda H-RV.

Last Updated:

Honda will revise the H-RV SUV for next year. The illustration above shows what it could look like for 2026.

While the current H-RV isn’t the best-looking compact Crossover ever, the “facelift” shown in the illustration above doesn’t really show an improvement.

Honda released its plans for this year a few weeks ago.

The super popular CR-V is due for a mid-cycle refresh. That refresh will bring a brand-new Trailsport trim. Which is not expected to be as capable as the new Passport. It will probably be as off-road worthy as the “Sport” trim is sporty. Honda says the new trim will “add rugged appearance to Honda’s best-selling model”. “Appearance” is the key here…

The smaller HR-V is also scheduled to get a few changes. Honda only mentions “styling and technology enhancements to maintain its competitiveness in the compact SUV segment”. Which is very vague. What it really needs to “maintain its competitiveness” is a Hybrid option. Currently, the HR-V is only available with Honda’s 2.0 Liter engine. Which is fine for the HR-V. Not the most powerful but a very smooth and refined engine.

Of course, it will probably get a new face, which will be in improvement. However, let’s hope Honda can do a better job than what we see in that illustration…

  1. The 2025 Honda ZR-V (same as the North American HR-V) was just updated. I wonder if this is what we’ll get, or if Honda will push for a more rugged front design.

This video from a German autoshow shows changes over the prior ZRV hybrid, that includes slightly revised headlamps/taillamps (smoked color) and an altered front and rear lower bumper that has more gloss black finishing.
