BMW has just released a few official photos of their upcoming all-new 3-series sedan for 2026. Of course, these are still camouflaged prototypes.
While we just saw BMW‘s new “Vision Driving Experience”, these new spy shots are showing us the real next-generation BMW 3 series sedan.
It seems like a cross between the Neue Klasse sedan concept and the BMW 5 series. And, compared to the current 3-series, the new sedan already looks much cleaner. it’s actually quite shocking to see how busy and messy the current 3-series has become over the years.
The Neue Klasse design could come to production as the new BMW i3 sedan. While the “regular” 3 series might be based on a totally different platform. That would make the i3 roomier than the next 3 series since its new EV platform will allow for a longer wheelbase.
This basically means the next 3 series could end up looking like a smaller 5 series. As usual. Which I guess is what the brand-faithful buyers want. For those who will be looking for something truly modern, the new i3 will be the real new BMW to get.
At least, the Neue Klass influence means the end of the ever-growing grille. Especially the current ghastly “Bug Bunny teeth” style grill we have on the recurrent 4 series and others.
Which would be a good thing.
