New Toyota C-HR +
Last Updated:

The all-new Toyota C-HR + is not related to the 2nd generation Toyota C-HR that has been on sale in Europe for a couple of years. It is the production version of the cool BZ Compact SUV concept we saw at the Los Angeles auto show back in 2022.
I think Toyota did a pretty good job translating the concept design into production. The interior is of course totally different from the alien spaceship-looking interior of the concept, and that might not be such a bad thing. However, that all-grey interior makes the whole thing look pretty drab and borderline depressing. I also noticed the new model’s door panels look very similar to the ones in the BZ4X.
It is built on Toyota‘s eTNGA platform, similar to the BZ4X. It is only 2 inches shorter than the Toyota RAV4.
2 batteries will be offered with 57.7kWh or 77kWh capacity. With FWD or AWD. You know, the usual choice in modern EVs.
While the new C-HR+ is targeting the European market, there is a good chance it is coming over here as well in 2026.

This is not only what is being reported, but this is also what the official photos are showing. With front headlights incorporating amber-colored front side markers. Which is a very specific US regulation ( FMVSS #108). This tells us these photos are indeed of the US trim.
The larger Toyota BZ4X currently starts at $37,000. Which is much cheaper than when it came out about 3 years ago. I think the new C-HR+ might need a new name for the US market. As does the BZ4X. Either way, the new smaller EV would have to start at under $34,000 in the US if it doesn’t want to cannibalize its larger family members. Which would be great news.
