2027 Ford Mustang Mach-e Coupe.

Last Updated:

While some of Ford‘s EV plans have been delayed or put on hold, the Mustang Mach-E has been quite a hit recently. And a second generation will be on its way later next year. At least that’s been Ford’s plan for a few years.

Apparently it could be based on a new modular platform. The same platform that was supposed to be used for their new 3-row EV SUVs. The ones they have now deleted or even canceled.

The production info above dates from 2023. Of course, anything can change between then and July 2026. Especially possible added tariffs on anything Ford produces outside the US.

Otherwise, the schedule does mention a new “Coupe” version of the Mach-e EV. Which will most probably not be a proper 2 door car, since you know… SUVs.

However, I think Ford might try a sleeker “SUV Coupe” type design. One that might resemble a 4 door Mustang, which is something Ford is actively working on. A 4-door Mustang based on the current coupe.

A strange idea since the Mustang is now much less popular than the Mach-e. With only 44,000 sold last year, its worst year ever. While sales of the Mach-e keep growing. With a 62% increase this year!

It would be wise for Ford to expand the Mach-e lineup. And another body style would be a great addition.
