2026 Hyundai Nexo.

Last Updated:

Here is another new car that looks shockingly closer to its recent concept: the all-new Hyundai Nexo.

The second-generation Nexo was just previewed by the recent Initium concept. The production version pictured above looks at least as good as the concept. And very modern indeed. It almost looks like a 2nd generation Ioniq 5 could look like. Hyundai called the new design language “Art of Steel”.

The targeted driving range for the next-generation hydrogen-powered SUV is over 435 miles. Which is an improvement over the current model’s 380 miles, but not a game-changer. Especially with Hydrogen stations in the US being so sparse, since they are currently all in California. All mostly along the coast. With only one between Santa Barbara and San Jose. This is the definition of range anxiety.

And yet, Hyundai is still trying.

With only 93 units of the current generation sold in the US last year, and the threat of high tariffs on foreign-built cars, I really doubt we’ll ever see the 2nd generation over here.

  1. Ive finally decided what it is about new Hyundai’s and Genesis’s (genesi?) that I dont like. The squirkle ( the rounded off square) is not a luxurious look at all- and they use it everywhere in the interior. Nothing looks more dated and cheap than a round door handle.
