2026 VW ID.Evo.

VW has just released a new teaser for their upcoming large EV SUV, called the ID.Evo.
So far, this is another concept previewing a new model for the Chinese market. This new Evo is part of a new series of models specifically developed for China. The first one we saw was last year’s ID, Unyx EV. Which is basically a Spanish Cupra Tavascan with a redesigned front and a tamer interior.
The new VW ID.Evo model doesn’t really look like anything else so far. However, its more angular design looks a bit like the Cupra Terramar.
The new Evo model is referred to as a full-sized model, which would indicate something larger than the Cupra version. Apparently, so far, the new VW sub-brand under which the Unyx is being sold hasn’t been very successful for VW. I guess having only one model doesn’t help.
And maybe, being a Cupra with a new front end isn’t enough to sell it as something brand new…
On another note, Evo just seems a bit weird for a car name. It does remind me of a Fuji Instax camera…
Finally, a VW that has a nice silhouette. Of course it’s only for China 🙁
