2026 Toyota BZ Woodland.

Last Updated:

Another day, another EV from Toyota. At least for the US market.

The new BZ Woodland is basically the exact same car as the Subaru Trailseeker we saw just a few weeks ago. With a redesigned Toyota front end. Since the Trailseeker and Solterra are Toyota products.

Besides the stupid name (Why not just “Woodland”?), the new Toyota is as baffling to me as the trailseeker. This is basically a BZ with 6 inches added to the cargo area. It still sits 5, not 7. Legroom is the same in both, and I’m really not sure if anyone will fork over more money for a slightly longer car.

Just like the Subaru version, the Toyota BS Woodland is only available with AWD and 375HP. Which puts the new model in a very narrow niche market. The “super fast AWD family SUV”. I guess…

Of course, with all that power, range isn’t as good as in the new BS, which has just 260 miles. However, it is still much better than the “old” AWD Toyota BZ4X.

The Woodland comes with “unique” 18-inch wheels with removable covers. And available off-road oriented tires.

Unlike the regular BS, the Woodland is only available in one trim. With a Premium package option that includes the 9-speaker JBL Sound system and the panoramic glass roof.

Of course, pricing will be key to its success. Just like the revised BZ and C-HR, it is still a mystery.

It seems the regular BZ will be the best deal of all, with FWD available and a much longer range. The C-HR and Woodland are only available with AWD and the larger battery.

I wonder how much more this will be than a loaded AWD 2026 BZ. How much per added inch…

On a side note, I just noticed on the top photo the name “BZ4X Touring” on the license plate. I guess the “BZ Woodland” name was a last-minute change and was picked after the official photos were already taken.

Weird…
