Future Lincoln video.

This short video shows what could happen if Lincoln decided to offer “real” cars again. Instead of their current lineup of 100% SUVs, what if they decided to revive older models? Like the Lincoln Continental, coupe, and sedan. A new Lincoln Town Car. Or even a new Continental 4-door convertible?
Lincoln’s last sedan here was the Continental, produced until 2020. A rather large sedan that was too closely related to the Mondeo/Fusion to have a truly large car presence. It was probably a nice, comfortable car, but it really didn’t have the required personality for the job.
The luxury brand actually still produces a sedan called the Z/Zephyr. But only for the Chinese market. It is also based on the Fusion, and still quite large since it is only about 4 inches shorter than the last Continental. It came out in 2022 and hasn’t been a big success for Lincoln. With just over 12,000 sold last year. Apparently, that is less than half the number of the old Buick Regal. A car has been sold since 2018.
Lincoln doesn’t offer any EV models either. Not here and not in China, where the EV and PHEV market share is growing extremely fast and has now reached 48% of the new car market. Lincoln is not just behind, they are far behind.
They also desperately need cars with personality to stand out. And not only in the super crowded Chinese market, but the US as well.
Ford’ seems to be pretty ‘s future plans seem to be pretty confusing, and Lincoln could soon pay the price…
My Aunt Babe bought a Lincoln Towncar something like a hundred years ago. She thought this made her classy – sitting in the driveway of her 1 car garage little house. She was wrong. But that doesn’t mean Lincoln doesn’t need something like a big slick hybrid cruiser. If for no other reason than for all those livery drivers out there.
