2028 Toyota RAV4. More teasers.

These are the latest official teasers from Toyota. As it is getting ready to reveal the all-new 2026 RAV4 to the world tomorrow.
The top photo shows pretty much what we have been seeing for a few months. The new front end could look more like the Toyota Crown Signia than the current RAV4.
However, the 3rd photo shows a ghastly huge black plastic grille. It seems the particular design will be used on a more off-road-oriented model. These are very popular these days with car manufacturers, and basically a new way to price these cars even higher with off-road features, almost no one will ever use.
The rear-end image shows a very blocky and angular design. Something that looks a bit like the new C-HR EV rear end. That seems to be a look Toyota has been embracing recently. It looked great in their fantastic Land Cruiser SE concept from 2023. And especially the futuristic FT-3 e concept. We’ll see if it looks as good on a new RAV4…
Everything else is just a guess, as Toyota has released zero info about the new RAV4. The only official word is: “The wait is over. The reveal of the new 2026 RAV4 drops tomorrow”.
No matter what, the RAV4 will look all-new, unlike the 2025 Camry, which is a heavy refresh of the 2017 model. Toyota will not rock the boat and will make sure current owners will be happy to trade in their RAV4 for the new one. Powertrains are still a mystery, but the new RAV4 is still rumored to offer a standard Hybrid at least in the US and Canada. With an improved and more efficient PHEV model as an option.

The hard points on this look identical to the current generation. While it’s more heavily restyled, I’d bet they’re taking the same approach as with the Camry and reusing a lot under the skin.
