Lincoln Continental.

Lincoln seems to be working on a new large 3-row EV SUV related to the upcoming Ford 3-row EV. Unfortunately, a large sedan like a Continental EV doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
I recently posted an illustration of what a large future Lincoln Town Car EV could look like. The car above could be a smaller and sportier model using the famous Continental name.
The Lincon Continental started life back in 1940, as a 2 door coupe and convertible. However, the car we mostly remember as a “Continental” is the 4th generation sedan produced from 1961 to 1969. While much more boring 5th generation produced from 1969 to 1979 became one of the most popular cars in 1970’s TV shows.
In 1982, the 7th generation became a much smaller car based on the Fox platform. It even turned into a FWD sedan related to the Ford Taurus starting in 1987. Ever since it was seen as a smaller and slightly sportier FWD alternative to the larger RWD classic Town Car.
Cadillac has been hard at work on at least 2 new EV sedans. Lincoln has been making a push into the Chinese market for the past few years, a market where large luxurious sedans are still popular. Which might explain Cadillac’s interest in new Ultium-based sedan models.
I think a new, sportier luxury sedan from Lincoln would not be out of place in the EV era…
I truly believe that if Lincoln were to revive the Town car and Continental models. Lincoln would see a huge surge in sales.
Not everyone wants a SUV? Some families are 2 people and don’t like driving a tank. I like the last Continental and with a slight tweeking outside it should be awesome. I had a 2012 MKZ. And in fact the MKS was really nice …lots of room And no fear of being run over. So that’s my 2¢ worth. But set the trend and quit following!?
