2026 Nissan Leaf.

The new 2026 Nissan Leaf will be officially unveiled tomorrow. And yet. your best friend and mentor Vince Burlapp has a photo of the real thing today. Where we can see the rear of the car for the very first time. While the front and part of the interior were published earlier.

As we already know, the new 2026 Nissan Leaf will use the same platform as the larger Ariya.
It will have an EV range of up to 373 miles. However, that is in the European test cycle. Which means something closer to around 310 miles in the US. Charging the new Nissan EV will of course be much faster than the old Leaf. With up to 155 miles in just 14 minutes. Which Nissan claims is very close to the time most people spend at a gas station. The

The new Nissan Leaf will also come with a standard NACS port in North America.

The new Leaf will have an optional electrochromic dimming panoramic roof. Which is a really cool feature. Especially for an affordable car like the Leaf.

Of course, we won’t know about pricing for a while. Currently, the larger Ariya starts at around $39,800. That means the Leaf would have to start at under $35,000. Or even less.

$35,000 seems to be the magic price for a bunch of new upcoming EVs. Others like the Kia EV3 and Toyota C-HR are rumored to start at around the same price. So did the new Volvo EX30 when it was announced for the US last year. However, currently, Volvo only offers the loaded AWD model over here for over $46,000. And Volvo is even considering canceling US sales altogether due to tariffs

Currently, the more $39,000 Nissan Aryia is available with an amazing $129 a-month lease. I can only imagine how affordable an even less expensive Leaf lease could be after a few months.

There isn’t much longer to wait to see the real thing.

  1. Congrats on getting the first images of this next gen Leaf. For a mass market car, I actually like the styling. Its futuristic without being too crazy or weird. It is hard to judge the size. I hope it is Prius-sized because I think that’s a very workable size which would help sales. Nissan really needs a hit!
