The all-new Nissan N7 sedan is the company’s latest effort to regain market share in the Chinese market. Will it be enough?
This new Nissan sedan is based on a new platform design with Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng. It might seem like a Tesla Model 3 competitor but it’s actually close to the Model S in size.
Unlike some other Chinese manufacturers, Dongfeng is not a private company and is fully owned by the Chinese State.
The design is the Nissan N7 is nothing special at all. It does look like dozens of other new Chinese sedans. And not as good as some like the Xiaomi or Zeekr 007. And of course, it has a light bar!
The N7 is targeted to families and is not available with AWD or sportier versions. Only one motor that produces 215HP or 268HP is an option.
Nissan is planning 3 or 4 other new models in the next year. But I’m not sure this N7 is the way to go to get out of trouble. The Chinese market seems to have become the most competitive in the world right now. A conservative boring sedan design seems to be exactly what not to do.
