2026 Tesla Model S.
Last Updated:

A few months ago Telsa mentioned the Model S would be “getting some love” later in 2025.
So far from various spy shots we have seen around the web, it looks like the amount of love will be quite limited. Interior shots show new ambient lighting and maybe a bit of metal trim on the console. These new exterior shots of a prototype driving around show a new wheel design and a new blue color.
I am not a Tesla Model S nerd and there might be a few details here and there that are actually different from the current version. But it is far from what is really needed for the big Tesla after 13 years of production.
It got a second upgrade back in 2019 with a brand-new interior. And nothing since. Sales have peaked from an amazing 90,500 units in 2022, to under 16,000 last year. With just 3000 units sold so far in 2025. It seems the 13-year-old model would need much more than a new color and wheels if it really wants to stay around.
The Model Y got an all-new interior and many more improvements and sales are still down. This means that even a brand new Model S would not actually improve the current situation at Tesla. The lack of long-term new models is very worrisome. And that’s on top of Elon Musk’s behavior.
Lucid sedans are getting more and more affordable these days. And a brand new Polestar 5 luxury sport sedan is right around the corner.
I’m afraid new wheels and color just won’t cut it…
I wonder where they put the swastika easter egg?
Tesla’s designs are really growing stale. Meanwhile, competitors are closing in rapidly.
