2026 Ford Bronco Hybrid.

Ford has just released a brand new teaser for a Hybrid version of the Bronco.
From the teaser, it’s actually hard to tell if this is the Bronco or the smaller Bronco Sport. The mirrors look exactly like the ones on the Bronco Sport. However, the hood seems very different and more like the larger Bronco. With a slightly more angular front end, and for some reason, the LEDs are now almost square instead of the classic circle on current models.
There is also that hump in between the front seat, which could be the rear spare tire of the Bronco. Something the Sport doesn’t have.
The Bronco Sport has already received a few changes for the 2025 model year. Which means a new grille for 2026 is unlikely. And there have already been a few rumors of a Hybrid Bronco for a while now.
However, it seems a Bronco Sport Hybrid could easily use the Ford Maverick Hybrid powertrain since the two vehicles are closely related.
As a PHEV for the larger Bronco, Ford could use the powertrain already in use in the Ford Ranger pickup overseas. Again, the Ranger and Bronco are related. The powertrain uses an electric motor with the 2.3-liter engine and gets around 30 miles of EV range. Which would beat the Jeep Wrangler PHEV.
So it seems the big Bronco might actually be the one getting a Hybrid version, at least in China. And that new, smaller mirrors could be part of that mid-cycle refresh after all…
