Chrysler Cordoba luxury coupe.
Last Updated:

Yes, a “luxury’ coupe from an American brand is something we haven’t seen for a long, long time. However, with a Chrysler reboot apparently coming soon, who knows…
So far, the plan is for a new EV SUV related to the Jeep Wagoneer S sometime late this year or next year. Which makes sense since everyone wants an SUV. Then, a heavy refresh of the Chrysler Pacifica, as well as an all-new EV Minivan based on the STLA platform. If the brand can stay alive that long. And maybe even a sedan somehow based on the Halcyon concept design, for later.
At least, there seems to be a plan, somewhere. Which is quite different from the old dark Margionne days when the brand was starved of anything new.
But what would really be nice, and probably not a money maker at all, would be a new large coupe. One that could easily be based on the new 2025 Dodge Charger. A more traditional and luxurious take on a modern large EV coupe.
The new 2025 Dodge Charger is a true comeback of the big American coupe. Like we had in the 1970s. It is not only longer than the Challenger it replaces, but it is about the size of a Mercedes S-Class! At over 206 inches long, it is about the same size as the 1968 model.
A new Chrysler coupe could, of course, be called a “Cordoba“. Which would be both fun and kind of weird. While the original 1st generation Cordoba from the late 1970s was longer than the new Charger at 215 inches, the shorter 2nd generation was pretty close. At around 2010 inches.
A large, luxurious 2-door Chrysler could be around the corner if they wanted to. Of course, there isn’t much of a market these days for a car like this. We’ll have to see how the new 2025 Charger does.
Something that could be a much more stylish alternative to SUVs we see everywhere. A more luxurious Chrysler version could pick up a few customers who want something fancier. Something almost no one else offers these days.
I guess I don’t understand what’s so hard about building a flex chassis for electric, gas, PHEV or hybrid. As long as you leave the space in the floor for batteries, those could operate any of the electrified products… then you just need space for the ICE engine/ generator and leave room for a driveshaft and/or exhaust. Makers used to stretch and widen wheelbases between models and configurations of a single model. I thought Stellantis was pushing in that direction, and it would let them customize something like your rendering. Why haven’t they done this yet in the US?
It isn’t a crossover, so nobody cares.
I like it. Good design.
Looks like the egg shaped Tesla
Looks like the egg shaped T es la
When in my teens I fell in love with The Chrysler Corporation especially the Beautiful Imperial , 300,Ram induction , The Dodge and Plymouth prowler. What happened where did. All the money where did it go. Where did Quality go The more I read my heart started to break. I became angry disappointed and finally I Lost faith I worked 34 years at Chrysler Air temp I owned several autos made by Chrysler The older models were somewhat good the. Later years were a Let down really awful. I hope the. company make turn around
I don’t want an electric vehicle
Would love to see a luxury coupe again looking forward to seeing Chrysler being the one to bring it back
I think this is a glorious idea. I’m even dreaming of future 300 models, New Yorker models and dare I say an Imperial to top the lineup off. I really want Chrysler to grow and succeed. I’ve always loved the company and I like to see vehicles that are built in the US. I also like Chrysler’s styling when it’s done correctly and Walter P Chrysler was an incredible engineer. It would be a horrible shame if his name vanished from the automotive landscape.

People are tired of SUVs, people are having less children, so why are you bringing new versions of the minivan?
Give us the coupe, look at what Dodge did in the last decade. Stellantis is trying to make the American car culture European.
Just another electric piece pf excrament! Make it a a real car and I’ll look at it!
Looks like a stretched crossfire!!!!
Put a hemi in the SRT version.
Looks like a Tesla
It look like a tesla M s
What is wrong with Stelantis?
Absolutely no imagination and poor quality builds?? They seem to have a death wish! Sell the company to another car company that’s willing to do something with the brand.
Loveeeee
It’s a shame that such an iconic brand is just put out into the pasture.
Chrysler needs to do something like this or they’ll die with limited options left.
Chrysler in general has been awful for decades. We bail them out and they still make garbage. Time to let them fail.
Hopefully Chrysler will make the Chrysler Cordova cause there’s still a large audience 2 Door Coupe’s & Sedan’s. Chrysler and Dodge should also hopefully bring back the Chrysler Imperial and the Chrysler New Yorker which were 2 of the most beautiful Cars in the World with Rolls Royce and Bentley Quality. Chrysler and Dodge can do it 🙏 cause they have the Capability to do it. Please lets understand there’s still a very much appreciated and large audience for Sedan’s, everybody are not into SUVS AND CROSSOVER SUVS that doesn’t get as much gas mpg as you would think
Needs 4 doors
Hideous vehicle.
Will it have rrrrrich Corinthian leather?
Gorgeous gorg8
This “thing ” looks NOTHING like a Cordoba In my lifetime I have owned three different Chrysler Cordoba ‘s in my lifetime. I fell in love with the Cordoba after riding in a triple black 1976 model that my sister’s husband bought for her. THIS THING LOOKS LIKE A TESLA HAD A ONE NIGHTER WITH A 63 CORVETTE..
Bond, James Bond…..
This affectionately reminds me of my Jensen Interceptor! Cannot wait to see it in person! Respectfully, Seth
I want one in green or black
It looks nice(Cordoba), but is not for.me… I preferred the 1970s Cordoba, there are few clean alternative fuels that it can be converted to. Still keep the original luxury theme… even the old 360, or even 440, no hemi
They just copied Porsche body styling.
