Polestar just released the first official teaser for their upcoming 7 compact SUV.
The new small Polestar 7 will in effect replace the Polestar 2. And will be built in Slovakia. Not China. In an atempt to avoid European tarriffs on Chinese made cars. However, the US now has tarrifs on cars coming from everywhere.
So far, we have the 2, 3 and 4. The 5 will be their large EV fastback sedan based on the 2020 Precept concept. And yes, that’s 2020. 5 years ago…
The 6 will be a sports car based on the 02 Concept from 2022. This all-new 7 we had never heard about is described as a compact SUV that will fit below the current 3. ( It will aslo be released before the Polestar 6 sportscar). Which sounds a lot like a Polestar version of the new Volvo EX30. As well as the Zeekr X, since both are based on the same platform. However, they also mentioned that starting with the 7, all their future models will share the same platform. Which means something different than the Volvo EX30.
Who knows. The company itself is confusing. Since now most new Volvos will also be EVs. I guess the Polestar models are sportier and more expensive. Like Audi and Porsche?
And the naming situation is just insufferable. As they are named in the order they are launched. Which has nothing to do with size or price. I guess that’s one way of never running it of names…
