Dodge Charger EV.
Last Updated:
The first thing I noticed when I saw the official photos of the new 2025 Dodge Charger EV was how much it reminded me of the Dodge Charger R/T from 1999. It was a great-looking design and the following production models never really captured the beauty of the original concept by Tom Gale. Until now.
I think the new 2025 Charger is as close to a production version of the 1999 concept as we’ll ever see. Finally.
As I mentioned earlier, the new Charger is better in every way than I expected. And the 4 door surprise is the icing on the case. It already looks like one of the nicest-looking sedans out there. And the coupe makes the current Mustang even older and odd-looking. The new Mustang all of a sudden aged by 10 years.
Here are some of the official specs:
- All-new, all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona delivers up to 670 horsepower and is expected to reach 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, retaining its title as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car.
- In addition to the Charger Daytona Scat Pack, all-electric Charger models include 496-horsepower 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T.
- All-wheel drive is standard on all-new Dodge Charger models.
- Driver-focused, immersive interior design includes new 64-color Attitude Adjustment interior lighting that reacts to vehicle events and select driver inputs
- Dodge Charger Daytona models feature patent-pending Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, delivering Hellcat levels of sound intensity that set the Charger apart from ordinary BEVs
- PowerShot feature, standard on Charger Daytona models, delivers an incremental 40 horsepower for 15 seconds when activated.
- New Race Options include Donut Mode, Drift Mode, and two unique Race Prep options
- One-button Press Experience instantly transforms the vehicle’s personality, with cluster and HUD graphics changing for chosen Drive Modes
- Drive Experience Recorder, with user options for drag race and circuit race recording, provides in-car synchronized logging of audio, video, and vehicle data
- The future Charger lineup will also offer two internal-combustion engine options with 550-horsepower Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O. and 420-horsepower Charger SIXPACK S.O., powered by 3.0L Twin Turbo I-6 Hurricane engine
- Two-door coupe versions of the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack and 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T will begin production in mid-2024
- Production of four-door Daytona Scat Pack and R/T models, gas-powered two-door Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O., and four-door Dodge Charger SIXPACK S.O. scheduled to start Q1 2025
- All-new Dodge Charger will be built at the Windsor (Ontario) Assembly Plant
Inside, it comes with a 10.25-inch or available 16-inch instrument display. With a 12.3 center screen. Cloth and leatherette seats are standard with leather as an option. Optional packages are: Plus Group, Blacktop package, Carbon & suede package, Sun & Sound package. (A Burlapp favorite).
There is a standard Alpine sound system with nine speakers and a sub. An 18-speaker System is an option on all trims.
The R/T model is expected to get a range of over 317 miles. They are still mentioning CSS chargers, although Sellantis recently joined other car makers using Tesla’s NACS charging system. No word yet on an adapter.
I am sure most journalists and car nerds will drool over these super expensive and overly powerful versions of the car. While I will just enjoy the beautiful design and would personally be more interested in a more basic version as I never need anything with that much power. Or even AWD. I can only imagine a RWD model with cool options like the excellent sound system and glass roof. And an even longer range.
A great-looking electric car that looks like a futuristic version of a 1960s car with the convenience of a hatchback sounds as good as it gets to me…
Joe Mannix would be proud.
These are frigging huge. Forget the Mustang maybe these will be cross shopped against a F-150?
Great looking car, especially the two door. But the most important thing to making this a success for Dodge will be, as always, price and range.
The 99 RT Concept was much more attractive of a design than this new Charger. Looks much more svelte. The size and mass of this new gen Charger completely ruins it for me.
