2026 Nissan Leaf trims.

Last Updated:

Not all Nissan Leaf versions are created equal. Nissan has already put up a part of their website dedicated to the new 2026 Leaf, showing all 3 trims available in the US.

The basic model, the S+, comes with cheapo looking black wheel covers. But especially, a different rear-end design. One that doesn’t include the more upscale-looking black trim and 300ZX inspired tail lights.

This will be the rumored “around $30,000” model over here. Also with a smaller battery available. The SV+ looks better, mostly because of its alloy wheels. But the rear end is still the same as the base model. At least you have access to a few more colors.

The Platinum + is the one we’ve already seen all over the web, and it comes with everything. With even more colors available. The Nissan site doesn’t mention options yet. However, the super cool glass roof and Bose sound system are rumored to be exclusive to the top-of-the-line Platinum + trim. And there wouldn’t even be options on other trims.

Which is really too bad.

The site also mentions the basic Leaf S+ trim is available with a larger battery. Since it has smaller tires, this is the one that is rated at 303 miles, not the Platinium +.

So far the new 2026 Nissan Leaf is still a very interesting new EV. Which will be affordable to most if it really starts at around $30,000. However, the loaded Platinum + will probably be closer to $37,000. Which is actually still a great price for a roomy, loaded EV. And still thousands less than a Tesla Model 3 with similar equipment.

The new Nissan Leaf also comes with both NACS and CCS. (However, the NACS is for fast charging only).

I can’t help but wonder why Nissan adds a “+” to all these trim names. Why not just “S”, “SV” and “Platinum”
