Next generation Lexus NX.

The Lexus NX is currently in its 2nd generation, and came out in 2021. And already looking kind of old. Mostly because it looks so much like the older 1st generation, I guess…
It seems Lexus will give it a few small changes for eh 2026 model year, and a new design a year or two later.
Most future Lexus models are rumored ot be influenced by the new 2026 Lexus ES sedan. A car that is available as both a Hybrid and a full EV. Which is something that might happen with the next NX. It will also probably grow in size since the ES did. And it is now almost a large as the Lexus LS.
I have seen the ES in person and had the chance to sit inside, and it is quite an impressive car. But the design is pretty heavy-handed and not at all what is still expected of a Lexus. And not in a good way. It is not a delicate-looking car at all. And could turn many current owners off. Over 43,000 units of the ES sedan were sold last year in the US. The NX sold almost 75,000 units last year.
Lexus will probably be more careful with the more popular NX, by keeping a few current design cues.
The hybrid version will use one of Toyota’s all-new engines. A 1.5-liter and larger 2.0-liter new engines are scheduled to replace the 2,0 liter, 2.4-liter, and 2.5-liter units used in Toyota’s current hybrids. These will be more powerful and more efficient.
