2027 Chevrolet Camaro.

Rumors about a new Chevrolet Camaro have been around since before the last generation was canceled. There were even talks about a “Camaro sub-brand” for a while. However, according to Motor Trend, an all-new Camaro is on its way. As a competitor to the popular Ford Mustang Mach-E.
That would mean an electric powertrain, 4 doors, and a hatchback. With a higher body style. Something many Chevrolet Camaro fans will hate, just like Mustang hardcore fans hated the Mach-E. But the “regular”, good old V8 Mustang is still around, and these vocal fans don’t seem to buy it. Ford and GM are running businesses that actually need to make money in order to stay around. And these V8 muscle cars just don’t sell anymore.
Ford sold around 47,000 Mustang coupes and convertibles last year. And only 27,780 so far this year. While over 56,000 Mustang Mach-E EVs were sold in 2024. The loud Camaro fans didn’t buy the Camaro either.
I bet GM wouldn’t shy away from another 60,000 or more sales of a new sporty EV using a famous sports car name. Like “Camaro”. The new car could end up as a more stylish EV than anything Chevrolet offers today. A Camaro EV would also be able to produce amazing power and speed in high-end models. Since the Blazer SS is already producing 615HP in a larger and probably heavier car.
The illustration above shows what a new Chevrolet Camaro EV could look like.
As for the Mustang Mach-E, the current generation was scheduled to end production in June 2026 and switch to a new, redesigned model. One that would also include a “Coupe SUV” body style. Similar to what Audi has been doing. However, it seems that it might have been pushed back.
