4-door Chevrolet Corvette.

Last year there were a few rumors about GM creating a Corvette “Sub-brand”, which could have included a sedan as well as an SUV.
As we know, nothing has happened since and there has been no new word on such a blasphemous vehicle being planned. However, this would pretty much follow what Porsche did years ago with the Panamera and Cayenne. So why not, I guess? A Corvette SUV above Chevrolet could end up being popular and very profitable for GM.
There were also rumors of new models under the “Camaro” name. Again sedans and SUVs were mentioned. And again, all EVs. Which really didn’t make much sense since these SUVs would be competing against other Chevrolet models like the Equinox EV and Blazer EV. At least the Corvette SUV would be something sportier and much more expensive.
At the same time, an “Escalade” sub-brand was even mentioned for the Cadillac brand. Again, something we’ve never heard of again. I guess this would have been a series of glitzy and ostentation new SUVs smaller than the current Escalade. However, we have since seen the new Escalade IQ and other EV models like the Vistiq and Optiq. And there seem to be no other versions of these planned so far.
Maybe, just like some future EVs these days, they have all been pushed back a year or two. And not really canceled altogether.
I really don’t think any of these names could be used as what they call a “sub-brand”. They can still come up with a new super sporty expensive Corvette-influenced SUV and call it “Corvette something”.
And a new Camaro or two could be the same. Just like Ford did with the Mustang Mach-E.
Who knows…
meanwhile, why don’t you spend a couple of minutes watching the video above and see what could happen? In a year or two…
I’m guessing Mary Barra saw the winds shifting and new not to obligate their spending too far out, considering the total s**t show we’re about to witness with Elon Musk involved in our government.
If Cadillac made a blocky, square baby Escalade that was fully loaded at the price of the big boy base model, they’d sell like crazy… The problem is not that it wouldn’t sell, just the opposite it would likely outsell the big one and reduce profits.
There will be a Corvette 4-door or 5-door almost certainly, and perhaps by that time we won’t need to discuss if it’s a sedan or a crossover as those two things will be indistinct. Like, for example a Lexus RX isn’t any more of a truck than a Lexus ES at this point.
You get a Corvette! And YOU get a Corvette! And YOUUU get a Corvette! Everyone gets a Corvette!
Would that be the same Mary Bera who stopped GM from being a Taxi company after spending 10,000,000,000.00? The taxi started in 2013. She became CEO in 2014, Chairman of the board a couple of years later? That one? Did she see “Casablanca” and was shocked there was gambling going on in the establishment?
But nah, it’s Musk’s fault. For no reason other than “MUSK!!!!” and Orange Man Bad!!!!!
The DoD can’t account for hundreds of billions of dollars but you are the dog in the burning cafe drinking coffee.
I’ve always liked the last generation of the Chevy El Camino.
I think an updated, modern version of this concept could be a big hit.
Who knows?
