Chrysler New-Yorker.

Last Updated:

As mentioned earlier, Stellantis is getting ready to launch at least 3 new Chrysler models. All are based on the STLA platform and related to the Jeep Wagoneer S and the new Dodge Charger.

An SUV, a revised Pacific, and a new EV minivan are in the cards. Chrysler is also hinting at a possible new sedan. They keep claiming most of their future designs will be based on the Halcyon concept. Something that seems hard to believe since the futuristic concept doesn’t seem close to a production vehicle.

the illustration above shows what a new large Chrysler 300 replacement could look like. One that isn’t really based on the Halcyon. It could even have a retro 1990s feel to it.

I previously posted a few illustrations of possible future Chrysler Imperial sedan as well as an Imperial coupe. The illustration above shows what a future New Yorker could look like. A car that would be slightly smaller and cheaper than an Imperial. Something that is different from the most recent version of the 300 would also have to be called something else, like “New Yorker”. Or anything, like “Newport”, “Concorde” or “Airflow”. Who knows…

The first Chrysler New Yorker was produced in 1940 and the last one in 1996. Through many generations, it went from a giant luxury sedan to a much smaller FWD model based on Chrysler’s LH cab forward platform.

Of course, a new sedan based on the STLA platform could be anything Stellantis wants. RWD, FWD, or AWD. It could also be a hybrid, PHEV, or an EV.

The Halcyon concept is actually weird since it is an enigma. the production car could look like anything. I think Chrysler could do worse than a retro-futuristic with a few older design cues.

Whatever it ends up being, it would be great to see another large Chrysler sedan in the next few years…
