2027 Hyundai Santa Fe.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is already getting ready for a mid-cycle refresh. We have already seen many illustrations and spy shots So why not a few more…

The current generation just came out a couple of years ago, and it seems Hyundai is in a hurry to modify it. Sales in the US have not been fantastic. The previous generation was still selling over 131,000 units in 2023. That number dropped to 113,343 in 2024. And around 92,000 so far in 2025. That obviously means the new generation is not the hit Hyundai was expecting. Maybe changing things that drastically from one generation to the next was too much.

From the illustration above, as well as the spy shot, it seems the front end will be all new and will make the Santa Fe look newer than it will be. The rear end is also due for a redesign. No news about the interior yet.

I have to say, I was a bit disappointed when I saw the new Santa Fe a couple of years ago at the Los Angeles auto show. In person, it looked a bit cheap. And the interior wasn’t that impressive. It’s one of these cars that actually looked a bit better and more upscale in photos.

There is also a lot of cheap-looking black plastic trim all over the place. Which doesn’t help…

Maybe the current generation got too eird? In that case, it seems making it even more strange looking might not be the best answer…

  1. I think the current generation looks like a Ford Flex, and that’s not a compliment. Also at night the tail lamps look like dog bones! Get the redesign into production stat!

  2. This changes in the illustration do nothing to make this hideous vehicle look better.

The previous generation Santa Fe was a very attractive vehicle. It had a well executed design that actually made it look more upscale that its actual market position. Inside and out, the previous generation had a much better design than the current slab sided monstrosity.
