2026 Buick Electra L7 pricing.

Before we mention pricing, let’s remember that the all-new Buick Electra L7 sedan is a PHEV car. Not a full EV. It has a 1.5 Liter engine that acts as a range extender. The EV only range is rated at 189 miles. Which is already excellent. The total range of the car is 887 miles.

The new L7 is not small and is about the size of a Tesla Model S. It also reaches 60MPH in under 6 seconds. What it is is pretty cheap. The base model starts at an amazing $24,000 in China. That is about the price of a basic Honda Civic over here. A loaded Avvenit trim starts at around $30,000. It even includes a 27-speaker sound system and Nappa leather seats. Again, for less than a Civic Touring over here.

I know Chinese-made cars are really cheap in their home markets. Even a twive thwe amount, the new Buick sedan would cost between $48,000 and $60,000. For a large, luxurious PHEV sedan with an amazing range. Pricing of the new Buick is hard to compare to anything since there are so few sedans to pick from in North America. The Cadillac CT5 starts at around $50,000. The Genesis G80 starts at $60,000.

Of course, they keep telling us US customers don’t want sedans. So this is not coming over here.

Which is really too bad.

  1. Hopefully when the boomers are no longer in the buying public, younger folks would pick sedan more and push auto makers to offer more sedans. I guess the profits on SUV’s are just too good, hard to change the trend anytime soon.

  2. I wonder how much its content or construction would have to be altered to meet existing vehicle standards in the US such as 5mph bumpers, headlights, and crash testing.

  3. If it was just boomers, sales of SUVs would be declining as they continue to die off. Remember, boomers were born 1946-1964.
The problem is that younger people are also picking raised boxes.

  4. I guess I’m in the minority because I’m not impressed with this sedan. It looks like every other generic looking electric sedan in the Chinese market. If the Buick tri-shield badges were removed from the exterior, you wouldn’t be able to identify this sedan as a Buick. I also think the execution of the lighting units in the front is atrocious.
