It sure looks like Mercedes is getting ready to introduce a 3rd generation of the small GLA. And sadly, it also looks like that big new ghastly chrome grille will be part of the new design. Which is actually expected…
The current Mercedes GLA was introduced almost exactly 6 years ago. Sales aren’t great in the US, with fewer than 20,000 units sold last year over here. This explains a rumor about the next generation not making it to North America. Possibly being replaced by a more SUV-like new model.
Wherever it will be sold, the new Mercedes GLA is expected to be offered as a pure electric EV as well as a hybrid model.
The illustrations above show what the next-generation Mercedes compact crossover could look like, and they seem pretty realistic.

I agree with the previous comment. I think the Mercedes grille looks much better than the porcine nostrils BMW has plastered on the front of their new iX3. That being said, I think both brands have much classier grille designs on some of their past models than either of these new “modern” interpretations.
