The all-new 2027 Mercedes GLB is here.

As expected, the Mercedes GLB is all new for 2027. It is now based on the same MMA platform as the new CLA sedan. And shares its interior as well. Of course, the much roomier GLB still has the option of a 3rd row seat.

Just like the new CLA, the GLB will be offered as an EV or a Hybrid. The EV trim will replace the current Mercedes EQB. The new EV version is estimated to get up to around 390 miles of range. Which is quite amazing. However, EPA numbers should be closer to around 320 miles.

With the new CLA EV starting at around $47,000 in the US, the new GLB could be priced quite competitively as well. The current EQB starts at $53,000. With a 250-mile range. It seems Mercedes could keep the price from increasing and yet offer a no-need vehicle. I drove an EQB q couple of months ago and thought it was just fine. It didn’t drive better than most EVs I’d driven before. The small Mercedes starts, plated all the door trims were quite vulgar looking, and trying too hard to remind you this is a Mercedes. I guess I don’t have that uncontrollable feeling of making sure my friends and family know I’m driving a Mercedes…

It seems the new generation doesn’t have this. However, the front grille and lights do. Even the rear lights. Which is really obnoxious…

The GLB EV will land in the US at the end of 2026. With the 1.5 Liter Turbo hybrid coming a few months later.

  1. The front light bar looks like they got an LED strip off Amazon and glued it on the front. The rear looks like a poorly proportioned Kia. Pass.

  2. Mercedes is just tacky. Three point stars everywhere. Vegas “glamor” interiors – but they can’t even cover the cheap plastics. Nope, this is an expensive Kia Soul. Mercedes needs to fire their design lead.

  3. This is just the Mercedes version of the Smart 5 suv. They are the same car. MB should be more special than just a expensive copy of another car.
