I guess “Vision” means their vision of the future. And “Iconic” is an obvious reference to the retro design. A design that tries very hard to remind us of Mercedes‘ glory days. And fails…
This thing is quite an obnoxious mess. The grille is what Mercedes is pushing right now. A copy of the old S sedan from the 1960s. Something that really doesn’t work on a modern car anymore. Especially something as sleek as a large 2-door coupe. Or anything built in 2025, for that matter.
The rear of the car is an obvious nod to the old Mercedes SL from the 1950’s which is nice. Except it doesn’t seem to fit on the rest of the car. And again, it doesn’t work at all with that huge obnoxious grille.
I guess Mercedes ran out of ideas to make their cars look like a “true Mercedes,” and the only thing they could think of was the big old grille design we all remember.
It seems this will be the brand’s design direction for a while. Which is really too bad…

I like it too. The Mercedes 600 grille does it for me. It’s so ‘in your face’, straight out of Gotham City.
