2027 Genesis GV90 EV Leaked. Neolun Concept Becomes Reality in New Image

Genesis and its parent company Hyundai Motor Group have come a long way. Not too long ago, Hyundai and Kia concepts were often bold, futuristic design studies that rarely previewed actual production models. These days, that approach is gone. Recent concepts feel much closer to reality, and the Genesis Neolun Concept appears to be a near-perfect preview of the upcoming Genesis GV90 luxury EV SUV.

The image above shows a prototype of the production model driving around in the US.

The new GV90 could be coming with a choice of 2 different sizes. This could indicate multiple configurations. Possibly different wheelbases, similar to what Cadillac is doing with the Cadillac Escalade IQ. If true, Genesis could be targeting a broader luxury market. Including chauffeur-driven buyers in global markets where rear-seat space is a priority.

The model is expected to ride on Hyundai’s next-generation EV platform. Which is reportedly more advanced and efficient than the current architecture used in models like the Hyundai Ioniq 9. This means the GV90 won’t simply be a stretched version of an existing EV, but a dedicated flagship designed from the ground up.

Another standout feature expected to make production is the use of coach doors, sometimes referred to as suicide doors. These were prominently featured on the Neolun concept and would add a level of exclusivity and elegance rarely seen outside ultra-luxury brands. However, the prototype in the image aboves shows a regular door setup.

Despite its large size and expected weight, the new platform could deliver impressive efficiency and range. Early expectations point to a generous driving range, potentially exceeding 300 miles. Along with improved charging performance and a quieter, more refined driving experience. Interior space will likely be a major highlight as well, with a focus on lounge-like comfort and cutting-edge technology.

One thing is already certain: the GV90 will not be cheap. Its main competitor in the U.S., the Cadillac Escalade IQ, starts at over $130,000, and Genesis is unlikely to undercut it significantly if it wants to position the GV90 as a true flagship.

Whether the image is real or not, it gives us a very compelling preview of what could soon become Genesis’s most ambitious and luxurious vehicle yet.
