2027 Honda Accord Refresh Preview.

The Honda Accord is getting a “major” facelift for the 2027 model year. the image I posted just a few days ago has produced many strong opinions. Mostly negative. About the way Honda might revised the Accord sedan for the new year.

The image above shows a similar look. One that is again inspired by the recent Hybrid Sedan Prototype. At least the front end, since the 2027 model will not be a new generation. Honda would make us believe this car ail basically look all new. Which it probably won’t, even if the front end is all-new.

What we’ll probably get is something similar to this. A regular mid-cycle face lift. Which has been the case in China since 2025. The Chinese Accord also got minor revisions inside. And is actually available as a PHEV model. Something that is not even planned for the North American market. No matter what Honda suits are claiming, I really don’t think it will look that different, except for the front end.

The current generation never looked as good as the previous model. It has never been as nice to drive either. Which is really too bad. I got used to the design and it doesn’t bother me as much as when it came out, but still…

In case we do get something very different, here are some ideas from around the web. Pretty bad ones I think.

The first one already looks worse than the current design. Also showing a car that seems much larger than a Mack truck stuck into an empty warehouse for some reason.

The second one does look a bit better. But it also looks like a refresh from 3 generations ago, so I guess not.

We probably don’t have to wait too long to see something official. But I’m not holding my breath. The all-new Civic will be much more interesting.

  1. C&D and Automotive news have both stated the Accord refresh will happen in the year 2027, not for the 2027 model year. So we won’t know what this car looks like until probably the end of the year at the earliest. The car is already 4 years old and the 2028 model year (when it actually arrives) would have been its sixth year. Honda has done significant refreshes in the past (2013 Civic and 2006 Accord) Toyota has as well so It wouldnt suprise me if the car is significantly different and is basically the Hybrid sedan concept from earlier this year. We shall see soon enough.

  2. I expect it will be heavily refreshed, but I know there won’t be changes to the body in white. The dimensions right down to the overhang, bumper placements, and side profile will be identical. Those are all very costly changes to make so I’m thinking it will be limited to soft panel changes…maybe the hood if they get really crazy.

  3. Great channel, Vince with interesting posts. This is what TOV used to be like, until unmoderated replies killed it.

  4. The red one looks like a 2003 model stretched out with light bars added. Not a fan. But it’s likely nowhere close to the real thing. If what we are speaking of is a 2028 model they should just redesign it completely as 5 years for an accord is the total cycle time.

  5. The red car in the last image reminds me of a cross between Infiniti and Genesis sedans. The final design of the Honda will in no way look as sleek as either. Keep up the fantastic labor of love, Vince. Your posts are excellent.

  6. the current Accord looks like a modern design attempt that didn’t translate well on the existing body hardpoints. And no one sweated the details to correct it. They should be extraordinarily careful that it doesn’t hapen again.
