2028 Toyota Corolla Info and Preview.

We already know an all-new generation of the Toyota Corolla is just around the corner, and today we have a new illustration from Japan. Showing what the new sedan could look like. (top image)

The second image shows the different powertrains Toyota will offer in the new model. These include gas, a regular hybrid, PHEV, and even an EV. This will make the new Corolla a very unique option in its segment.

The top image from Japan seems to show a more traditional sedan body style. While the other two previously posted illustrations are much closer to what Toyota has already released when showing the various powertrain options.

The stunning Corolla concept we saw a few months ago looked like a hatchback, not a regular sedan. A new rumor from Japan now mentions that the concept will heavily influence the new design and will include a hatchback. For once, the sleek fastback design could actually be a hatch.

This new body style would replace both the sedan and hatchback versions of the new Corolla. For those who want more room, a next-generation Corolla Cross is also on its way. Currently, around the world, the Corolla is offered as a sedan, hatchback, or even a wagon. On top of the Corolla Cross SUV. It seems Toyota might be ready to offer just one body style of the next generation. As well as a new Corolla Cross.

As we already know, the next Corolla will be powered by Toyota’s all-new 1.5 Litetr engine. Apparently, the new “regular” hybrid model could be up to 20% more efficient than the current one. Which could mean a combined 60MPG in the US for the next-generation Corolla Hybrid. Quite an amazing number, and a scary one for the Prius.

What would happen to the Prius if the Corolla gets 60MPG and has a standard hatch?

As far as the EV version is concerned, Toyota is expected to offer an AWD option and over 250 miles of range.

I think this all leads to an amazing transformation for the Toyota Corolla. One that could make the mostly unassuming Toyota sedan even more m popular than ever around the world.

I actually can’t wait to see it…

  1. I’ve always thought the illustrations and the concept car showed Camry-like proportions instead of what we’d see in the production model, something closer to the current Corolla’s size.
