2018 Toyota Camry
Last Updated:
Here is the very first official teaser of the all new 2018 Camry.
We will see the real thing very soon. But so far so good.
Considering recent Toyota designs, the isn’t as busy as it could have been.
It also look almost like a hatchback. Which I don’t think will actually happen, but would have been a great way to stand out from the sea of other mid size sedans in the US.
Like I said, stay tuned for more. Very soon.
Really ugly
Like almost all recent Toyo efforts: trying way too hard. Beauty is in simplicity. See 1963 Buick Riviera.
What a discombobulated mess
Toyota is keeping the new "Prius Prime" design cues, but has toned it down a tad for US customers. They want to move global car buyers away from the box designs that have been evolving and into more dramatic territory for the company's identity — be daring. But the Lexus-sized grill distracts from the rest of the new design.
As an auto repairman, Toyota doesn't give a hoot for us who have to straighten all those funky creases when customers get into accidents. It's also another reason why insurance rates are climbing, as so many of the damages are now write-offs, since the overall cost of repair is so excessive.
Did a Prius a few weeks ago with right front corner nose damage, but NOTHING harmed underneath. Cost the customer/insurance company $4376 in book rated repairs. And no matter how close the respray is, it never looks anywhere close to factory original!
WAY too many lines including that ridiculous drip off the tail light. Japanese designs are awful these days unless you like your car to look like a Pokémon.
December 3, 2016 at 11:29 AM I've been noticing that the bumpers on these newer cars, in certain light conditions, seem a shade different than the metal parts even on BRAND NEW cars. What's up with that???
This looks great so far. The problem? Lexus IS making the lc500 with similar tail lights and I'm sure will be doing the same with the ls
All new Toyota and Lexus designs are awful. I'm not sure which is worse – the 'spindle' grille that has ruined all Lexus cars or just the sheer designed by committee ugliness in most Toyota vehicles. The Japanese have run out of ideas, so they're reverting to the mid to late 70's awfulness.
